The office of MEP Tilly Metz (Greens/EFA) is looking for an Assistant (maternity cover 6 months) with experience in health policies and good understanding of EU decision making process to join her team in Brussels.
Policy monitoring : providing updates on legislative developments in the ENVI and BECA committees, with special focus on public health/ EU4health;
Legislative work : drafting amendments, following negotiations, representing Ms Metz in meetings with stakeholders and institutions
Prepare communications around the work in the committee, liaise with MEP offices, external experts and press;
Support Mrs Metz in her function of chair and member in various working and interest groups related to health, healthcare and medicines with the preparation, organisation and follow-up of meetings;
Preparing briefings, speaking points and presentations;
Writing minutes, summaries, and analyses.
Monitoring of emails related to health and environment;
Assist with the organisation of events;
University degree in EU affairs, politics, law, economics, or related degree;
Clear understanding of the EU decision process;
Previous work on transparency, access and affordability of medicines is a plus
Knowledge and/or experience in environmental, and health- related policies.
Proficiency in English and either German or French, knowledge of other EU languages is an asset;
Ability to analyse information and summarising it concisely
Strong writing skills
Previous experiences of being in charge of working groups and/or negotiations is an asset
Strong interest and knowledge of EU politics
Ability to work independently and to show initiative;
Strong time management skills and ability to respect deadlines;
Proactiveness, team working spirit and positive attitude.
We offer a full-time (40 hours/week) position for 6 months maternity cover. You will work in an intercultural, stimulating environment. You main place of work will be our offices in the European Parliament in Brussels, with occasional travels to Strasbourg or Luxembourg.
