I am recruiting an Accredited Parliamentary Assistant to support me in my daily activity in the European Parliament.
The ideal candidate has a thorough knowledge of the European political landscape and is well-acquainted with the internal functioning of the European Institutions, in particular the European Parliament. In addition to this, the opening targets a dynamic and flexible individual with strong oral and writing communication skills, multi-language proficiency and a positive attitude.
Job Description
The Assistant will provide support to the legislative work in the parliamentary committees on economic affairs and budgetary affairs, as well as the inter-parliamentary delegations. To this end, he or she will:
Follow the work of the parliamentary committees and delegations, including debates and votes, as well as the preparatory work within the EPP Group;
Draft briefings, speaking points or other relevant documents to my activity in the parliamentary committees, delegations or in the plenary;
Draft reports, amendments, parliamentary questions related to the legislative work in the parliamentary committees;
Draft press releases, prepare the participation in public events and provide content for my social media accounts;
Ensure an effective communication with the relevant actors to my legislative work: secretariat of the committees/delegations, secretariat of the political group, etc;
The Assistant will also support me in successfully fulfilling my role as Vice Chair of the EPP Group in the European Parliament. To this end, he or she will:
Prepare, together with the members of my team, my participation in all political meetings of the EPP Group;
Liaise with the key actors within the EPP, in order to ensure that my political objectives are met;
The Assistant will also provide administrative support in ensuring the smooth running of the day-to-day activities in the office. He or she will, together with the rest of my office:
Organise the agenda, handle phone calls or emails;
Provide travel arrangements;
Organise conferences, seminars, groups of visitors or other events;
Provide other administrative support.
Profile and requirements
Education to a degree level, with a preference for Economy or Finance;
Experience in EU institutions is mandatory; experience in an economic environment constitutes an advantage;
Knowledge of European political and economic landscape;
Impeccable written and verbal communication skills in English and Romanian; proficiency in German constitutes an advantage;
Proven analytical and drafting skills;
Good organisational and IT skills, good interpersonal and communication skills;
Ability to adapt to new issues, proactive attitude, self-motivation;
Positive attitude to new challenges and working as a team player.
